New industrial hygiene (IH) size-selective inlets are available
from Rupprecht & Patashnick for workplace monitoring and research
applications using the TEOM
Series 1400a Ambient Particulate Monitor. The indoor inlets
operate at a flow rate of 2 l/min, and provide size-selective sampling
of the thoracic, ISO Respirable and fine particle size ranges, with
D50 cut points of 10, 4.5 and 2.5 microns, respectively.

The IH inlets connect to the air tube of the TEOM Sensor Unit. Disposable
foam cartridges developed by the Health & Safety Laboratory
in Sheffield, UK, under contract for Rupprecht & Patashnick
provide for the thoracic, ISO Respirable and fine industrial hygiene
particle size cut points. The foam cartridges are easy to exchange
(see photo at right), and provide the flexibility to switch easily
from one particle size range to another. Replacement foam cartridges
are available in packages of 10, 25 and 100.
