The Series 5400
Ambient Carbon Particulate Monitor is now available in a 120
VAC configuration. Previously, the instrument had only been available
for 240 VAC installations, requiring the use of a transformer in
areas that have 120 VAC power. All of the other specifications of
the instrument remain the same in the new voltage version.
The Series 5400 monitor automatically analyzes suspended particulate
matter (PM-10, PM-2.5 or PM-1), and oxidized the collected particles
to indicate the amount of organic and elemental carbon content.
The instrument is the only automated method that has been approved
by the German EPA as an equivalent method to the German standard
for carbon in particulate matter.
The monitor's time-resolved measurements of carbon in particulate
matter can provide information about intra-day patterns related
to traffic and other sources is not possible using daily integrated
filter methods.
