The Taiwan EPA has established an air monitoring supersite in the
western part of the Taipei urban area for the study of particulate
matter suspended in ambient air. Researchers will use data generated
by the site to gain a better understanding of the size and composition
of ambient particulate matter (PM), and the factors that lead to
particle formation and transformation.
Information collected from automatic monitors installed at the site
is collected by a centralized data management system that provides
easy access to researchers.
Instrumentation installed at the air monitoring station includes
specialized filter-based PM samplers for the weighing and speciation
of PM in a laboratory, automated monitors for particle mass and
size determination, as well as specialized continuous instruments
to determine particle composition automatically.
Instrumentation sourced from Rupprecht & Patashnick includes
