Applications

The TEOM Series 1105 Diesel Particulate Monitor (at right with filter showing) helps engine manufacturers meet the new diesel particulate emission requirements of the late nineties and beyond. These more stringent regulations require engine developers to obtain a deeper view of the combustion process and to identify the conditions that create unacceptable particulate levels. The Series 1105 monitor provides this deeper view through second-by-second measurements of mass concentration (milligrams per cubic meter), mass rate (grams/sec), and total mass (grams). The monitor's fast response time allows for quick identification of problem areas, and the assessment of design or operations changes.

The Series 1105 monitor is based on Rupprecht & Patashnick's patented microweighing TEOM technology. This established technique is at the heart of the instrument's ability to generate real-time data. An additional feature of the TEOM platform is that it never requires mass calibration, a decisive advantage in the test cell environment. Furthermore, the Series 1105 monitor easily integrates with test cell computers for central data logging and remote operation.

The primary applications of the TEOM Series 1105 Diesel Particulate Monitor are:
